Weekend Plans for Easter Weekend

We’ve been busy making plans for the rest of April! Governor Whitmer extended the Stay Home Stay Safe executive order through April 30, 2020 which means that we are going to keep on keeping on being exclusively Carry Out & Delivery through that day.

The Wicked Sister will be closed Sunday April 12 in observance of Easter. I know my Easter Sunday this year will look much different than years’ past, as I’m sure yours and the entire Wicked Sister crew’s will be, too.

For all you Brunch lovers, you will need to plan ahead! We have a limited amount of Bloody Mary’s and Caesars canned and ready to go so you can enjoy cocktails with your Brunch. We also have House Wine Co. sparkling white wine for your Sunday Brunch mimosas!

Can’t fathom a Sunday Brunch without Construction Dip or Crab Dip? We can sell it to you cold on Saturday and you can reheat the goods later so it’s fresh when you want it! We’re open until 9pm Saturday (8:30pm for delivery) so you still have time to place your orders.

Looking ahead – I’m excited to announce that we will host another Tap Take Over – Social Distance Style – with Short’s Brewing Company on Friday April 24! If you listened to Eagle Radio’s Live Request Party tonight, you might have heard a different date and realized that I actually have no idea what day it is! Oops! My usual markers that help keep me in tune to the day of the week have been completely wiped out. I’m sure I’m not the only one struggling!

I promise to have our social media issues solved by then so we can have a real party on the 24th! The tap list details are still being worked out, but I’m expecting a nice mix of Short’s classic beers and some amazing specialty brews!

Our Founders Tap Take Over, which had been scheduled for April 30 is being postponed to a new yet-to-be-determined date. As soon as we can lock down a new date with Founders, we’ll let you know! In the meantime, we do have 2019 bottles of KBS and Blushing Monk for sale!

We are so grateful for all the community support! We’re about twenty-one days from the Stay Home, Stay Safe order being lifted! I don’t know what business will look like on May 1, if the Executive Order is not extended past its current date. I do know that I’m hella excited about the possibility of things starting to return to normal – even if it’s just baby steps toward normal!

On a slightly sad note, we are going to adjust our hours a little more to align with our actual sales during these crazy times! It means we’re going to close a little bit earlier every day and we might close for one or two days a week.

I am also looking hard at our full menu offerings: First, because we are trying to find the new sweet spot of how much to make, prep & buy. Second, we are facing some difficulties in getting normal products to our door as our supplier has begun making the difficult decision of what SKUs to cut back. We are also working around decreased delivery days as our supplier makes decisions that will allow them to a viable business when all this craziness is behind us.

If you tried to order boneless wings today, you’ve shared our pain! We were short-shipped chicken earlier this week and it put us behind on weekend prep. This is just a small insight to the back-end of what our current normal looks like! I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: The Wicked Sister doesn’t shop from a magical grocery store – it looks more like Shipt to the extreme – so when the overall market is struggling to keep a particular product in stock, we anticipate challenges in getting that to The Wicked Sister, too.

Fear not! The Wicked Sister will be just fine. As a restaurant, just like any small business, managing our food and labor costs are the two most important factors that will allow us to come through these times and reopen to business as usual. These are decisions that I’m not taking lightly, as I know they impact a lot of people. Once we have a new, temporary schedule in place, I will make sure everything is updated.

I do have a favor to ask of everyone! The entire Wicked Sister crew is lonely and missing all our guests. Everyday they come in and give 110% - something that I remind everyone here every day. They are KILLING it! I’m starting to feel like it’s when your mom tells you that you’re the smartest, prettiest or best – it’s just not sticking with them! I’m asking you all to email The Wicked Sister (contact@wickedsistersault.com), reach out on Facebook, TripAdvisor or however else you can get in contact with us, and help me remind The Wicked Sister crew how amazing they are! Or you could go Old School and mail us a letter! My plan is to print these out and cover our dining room in the well-wishes that you send us.

Enjoy your Easter Sunday! I don’t like ham, so I plan on roasting a Turkey with all the fixings, plus a few different breads that I’ve been wanting to make again. A few days ago, I made Hawaiian rolls from scratch – and I can tell you the extra dollar or two spent on Hawaiian rolls is well worth it! The dough is sticky and a pain in the butt to work with! We will be open on Monday April 13 at 11am ready to serve you!
