A Taste of New Orleans Fundraiser
A Taste of New Orleans Fundraiser
The Wicked Sister and War Memorial Hospital are teaming up for a Mardi
Gras fundraiser to support a courtyard project at WMH’s Behavioral Health Center. The fundraiser, titled “A Taste of New Orleans” will take place on Tuesday, February 25th in honor of Mardi Gras.
The flavorful menu includes Gulf Gumbo, Bourbon Street Red Beans & Rice and King Cake Bread Pudding. This special will be available for lunch and dinner.
By completing the WMH BHC Courtyard Project, patients will have access to the outdoors each and every day. The entire project will include a new courtyard fence, a basketball court, and a covered pavilion. This project will impact patients from the entire region. The positive impact of time spent in the outdoors on mental health is well-documented.
“The Wicked Sister graciously hosted the Mardi Gras event last year, and it was incredibly popular with our community” says Teresa Armstrong, Director of WMH Development Fund “Cathy and her staff outdid themselves with delicious food and a fun atmosphere and we are grateful to partner on this event again” Armstrong added.
Cathy Howell, owner of the Wicked Sister, has visited New Orleans several times and brings authentic flavors and flare to the event. “I’ve had the good fortune of watching King Cakes being made and learned the rich history behind them” said Howell. “I love this cause” Howell added “there is a strong push in the restaurant industry to promote mental health and wellness.”
The three-course meal will take place on Mardi Gras, Tuesday, February 25th and will be served from 11:00 am – 10:00 pm. Take out will be available. The entire three course meal is just $20 (plus tax and beverages). Mardi Gras themed beverages will be available.
