Captain's Log...Day 2 1/2...

Holy cow! Thank you for the continued support by ordering carryout and delivery at The Wicked Sister! Liv and Bob tell me they are enjoying the change of pace – rebranding themselves from bartenders to delivery drivers – and this weekend, Scotty, Jordan and Megan will join our motley crew of delivery specialists.

The kitchen crew is finding their groove in exclusively preparing food to go. To make room for necessary supplies in our super tiny kitchen, we plan to move all our normal plates and bowls to a temporary spot tomorrow. It will be a bittersweet day for sure, but we need to accept our current reality and do the best we can to make the best of the situation!

Speaking of living their best life, Kyler and Oz were enjoying being able to test the volume on the kitchen speaker tonight since they don’t have to worry about disturbing dine in guests. If you’ve ever sat at the table under the TV in the back, you know what I mean; and I’m truly sorry!

The Wicked Sister supports social distancing. It’s a little boring and lonely, but we are leaving the medical advice to the experts. At the moment, this is what they say, so this is what we’ll do. However, the five customer-at-a-time limit and phone orders have left us missing the social aspect of chatting with our guests. We are not even 72 hours in and already we miss seeing you guys! Feel free to send us postcards, letters, emails and Facebook signals! And while you’re at it, write your mom a letter, too!

We’re trying to come up with stuff to keep you and us entertained during our time apart! So here we go –

Sunday March 22, 2020 – Brunch To Go! Starting at noon (or slightly before because we just can’t stand to listen to the phone ring and not answer it) you can call in your Brunch order for delivery or pick up. We’ll be offering Chicken & Waffles, as well as our brand new – Philly Cheesesteak Hash – garlic roasted potatoes, chopped sirloin, sautéed peppers & onions, topped with provolone cheese and served with a side of garlic aioli. Eat it, take a nap – you’re already at home so it doesn’t matter. We’re also bringing in 375 ml cans of sparkling wine, in addition to our 750 ml bottles of prosecco so you can make your own mimosas at home. If you need OJ, let us know and we’ll figure it out! We can deliver it all to your home!

Friday March 27, 2020 – Social Distance Tap Take Over with Ore Dock! It’s definitely a different format than normal for our tap take overs, but we’re in need of some serious fun and by next Friday, I think you will need some, too! We’re still sorting out the details, but we’ll keep you updated as we finalize plans for a Tap Take Over like never before.

A special thanks to Tim at Eagle Radio 95.1 for being quick and adaptive. He allowed me to go into the station this afternoon to record a new radio commercial to promote our delivery service. Tim was an absolute professional: He said, “Don’t worry, I’ll edit out the heavy breathing.” He also said the song “Fever” as background music in the commercial was probably too soon. It’s good to have friends who will tell you how it is!
